Dive Boat

A dive boat may sound like something you needn’t put any thought into, but the reality is anything but. You can dive out of a rowboat if that suits your fancy, but in the case of an emergency a rowboat isn’t going to provide much in the way of support or life-saving care. A professional diving crew consists of a diving team, as well as the surface side people to run a support network for the divers.

The support network is a critical component of safe diving. Under normal circumstances there’s no need for divers to have a team on the surface, but if something goes wrong, that team will be the difference between life and death.  If there is an emergency, they can alert the coast guard, provide emergency medical aid, and quite possibly end up saving the lives of the divers.

The difference between a dive boat and something like a rowboat, speed boat, or fishing boat is fairly apparent when you step on board. A recreational craft will have a huge engine, mooring points for a tow line, and maybe a sound system. A fishing boat might have sonar, a quiet trolling engine, and comfortable deck chairs. A dive boat however will have computers, instruments, and equipment necessary for diving.
